Courtney Kennedy, DVM, MS, has always been interested in pursuing a career in equine medicine with a passion for sports medicine, lameness, dentistry, and preventative care. She believes that education, communication, and teamwork are all cornerstones of a successful relationship with clients and looks forward to working with each and every one of your animals.
Kennedy Equine allows us to bring the focus back to the individual. Our goal is to make each patient and client our priority and come up with the most effective team based approach to provide care to your horses.
Prior to attending veterinary school, Dr. Kennedy had many years of experience as both a small animal and equine technician. In 2018, she graduated with her Master of Science in Cellular and Molecular Biology from the University of New Haven. Dr. Kennedy attended veterinary school at St. George’s University, completed her clinical year studies at Auburn University, and graduated in June 2023. Dr. Kennedy was previously a large animal associate at Salmon Brook Veterinary Hospital where she was able to continue to learn and expand her skillset under the guidance of her colleagues.
Dr. Kennedy is a native of Connecticut and has been involved in the equestrian community her entire life. She currently resides in Avon, Connecticut with her family. If she is not home spending time with her family, she can most likely be found at the barn with her horses Arthur and Woody. She is excited for the opportunity to bring her love of the horse to the clients of Kennedy Equine.
Kennedy Equine is happy to provide services to Hartford County, Litchfield County, Middlesex County, New Haven County, Fairfield County, as well as parts Hampden County and Berkshire County.
